Nicely done! I have developed a similar definition that uses sight lines and other parameters (C-value, etc) to drive multi-tier bowl sections and then sweep them in plan. You're quality of vision display is a cool feature. Grasshopper is a good tool for studying practical issues such as this.

Thank you nathan. Exploring the tier profile is something we did for a while with excel but with this tool we control the QoV of each seat, while keeping the possibility to manually-tune the profile. I will clean the basic vb.net components and upload them here.

Hi Roberto. I am currently working in sports architecture field and really intereted in your stadium GH tool. I would like to ask if I can take a look at it closely and also wanna ask questions. Can you upload GH file or a better resolution image canvas that I can follow? I really appreciate your help. Thanks.

HI Roberto, Its quite a complex script there. Just curious if you use C#/ VB component in the process and what are the input parameters/ objects from Rhino. Cheers.

Hi Roberto, looking promising over here! - Would you mind uploading the definition so I can have a peek? - We are currently working on a football stadium in the UK, and were looking at the best way to maximize capacity with the given profiles, whilst obviously conforming to the regulations of stadium construction and FIFA standards. This would be a great tool to base our work on and obviously adapt it accordantly. Adam

Couple of days ago i was struggling with the same problem, and a good base for the grasshopper script was this excel spreadsheet : http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=330977&page=124

Thanks Svetlin! That is extremely helpful, I am very new to Grasshopper, and I'm working my way through the Generative Algorithms PDF, but how would you go about creating a Grasshopper file that incorporates that sort of information, using for instance a profile shape or does it create it's own given the data sets I give it etc.. A lot to think about!

Hi All. Attached you will find the StadioMatic definition. It will calculate a quarter of grandstand with a referenced and simple seat. Feel free to test it and improve it. Please, let me know your thougths. Roberto.

WOW, thanks Roberto! - That's some calculations you've got there! Impressive work. I'll let you know how I get on with it and post my results. Adam

Hi Roberto, your work is just impressive and detailed! I was doing the parametric grandstand before. My idea was to generate the grandstand from several user input such as the first row profile, grandstand boundary, focus point, C value, thread distance and width. User can draw the curves in Rhino first then feed them into GH. This post really gives me the desire to continue my unfinished work. Here are some pics generated from my system. I am trying to make a more compact version.

hi daniel, i've been working on stadium design for my thesis and have just begun using grasshopper as a tool to easily adjust the leg room the seating rake angle and the number of seats per row. I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how you created a boundary for the seating and how you oriented it toward a focal point on the field.
i uploaded what ive got so far but its very simple. I dont know how to expand on what ive got into multiple rows which are a specified distance from the focal point.
thanks, matt

Hi All,
Design A Football Stadium Online
I'm new on this forum, Roberto your script is amazing!!! thanks to share.
two questions:
1- it is possible edit the script to obtain constant C value, for instance if I want Map of goblin town.
one tier with c 90 mm all the seats got the same c 90?
Acronis true image 2017 mac. 2- i notice that the angle of each tier do not exceed 35 degree, It is possible change this?
